Rower Harriet Housam has been named as the Young Sportswoman of the Year at the Lincolnshire Sports Awards.
And it caps the year off nicely for the 18-year-old, who marked her Great Britain debut by winning bronze at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Lucerne, Switzerland.
“I love the technical aspect of rowing,” said Housam after collecting her award.
“You can constantly improve and see the rewards of your hard work.”
The teenager, a Boston Rowing Club member who is currently studying at university in Durham, has previously represented Lincolnshire in the GB Rowing talent programme.
She began rowing at the age of 14, and was one of the youngest athletes to be selected for the GB talent programme.
“I’m thrilled to be crowned Young Sportswoman of the Year,” she added. “I really wasn’t expecting to win and I feel really honoured by this award.”
Almost 350 guests celebrated Lincolnshire’s year of sporting success at the annual sports awards, organised by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership.
