Dave Coupland has finished in joint 72nd place at the European Tour’s qualifying school.

After a nervy wait in the clubhouse the Boston golfer learned that he made the cut after day-four of the competition in Girona, Spain.

And the last two days has seen him attempting to force his way higher up the leaderboard.

However, rounds of 75 (yesterday) and 74 (today) have seen him forced to settle for 72nd place.

The top 25 positions, plus ties, have each earned their European Tour card.

Dave, from Boston, will compete in the Challenge Tour next year.

But he has also earned the right to compete in a handful of tournaments in the continent’s top tour.
