Dave Coupland is preparing to compete for a place on the European Tour.
The Boston golfer’s debut season on the Challenge Tour has seen him consolidate a top-45 finish.
And that means he will compete at the European Tour Qualifying School’s final stage at the PGA Catalunya resort in Spain from November 15-20.
However, an excellent finish at the Dubai Festival City Challenge, held at the Al Badia Golf Club - which begins today (Wednesday) - could see him sneak into the top 15 of the Challenge Tour rankings, which would earn him his European Tour card automatically.
Dave currently sits in 36th place following a tied-15th finish at the National Bank of Oman Golf Classic this week.
The tournament at Al Badia is the tour’s season finale, with 350,000 Euros in prizemoney up for grabs.
It is open to the top 45 players, with no cuts.
Coupland finished on +2 at Oman’s Al Mouj Golf Resort to scoop 3,203 Euros in prize money, following rounds of 73, 72, 72 and 73 on the par 72 course.
