Division two table tennis clash sees Tony Kime take on Chips and Bridges

Results: Lodgers D 7, Graves Park Nomads 3; Lodgers D 4, Graves Park E 6; Graves Park Nomads 7, Belchford 3; Graves Park E 1, Lodgers H 9; Wrangle B 2, Penmaen C 8; Graves Park B 9, Sibsey A 1.

Graves Park Nomads’ visited Lodgers D, and Tony Kime beat both Walt Bridges and Chips Davey. Walt struck back, beating Ian Gorrie and Graham Bonsor, while Chips had to be content with one win against Ian. The doubles also eluded Nomads’ grasp.

Lodgers D picked up four points against third-placed Graves Park E, Tony Kime and Graham Bonsor both beating Pete and Tom Bell. Andy Gilbert beat Tony before beating both Ian Gorrie and Graham. Ian had a titanic tussle against Pete, who won the point. In the doubles, Andy and Tom beat Ian and Graham.

Nomads’ last match was against Belchford, Gary beat Brian Todd. However, Brian proceeded to beat both Walt Bridges and Chips Davey. Chips beat Simon Ellis while Walt beat both Simon and Jon Newby before teaming up with Gary to beat Simon and Brian in the doubles.

In Graves Park E v Lodgers H new signing Rita Rowe lost to both Simon Raistrick and Steve Marshall. Peter Bell was the only Park player to gain success, beating Steve, while Peter and Rita were beaten by Gavin Read and Simon.

Nos.6 and 7 ranked Chris Cooke and Dave Smith took their three games when Penmaen C visited Wrangle B. John Shortland beat David Butler before Dave and Chris paired up to beat Tim and Tony in the doubles.

Jason Cade gave Grave Park B’s no.1 ranked Alan Reetham a real scare, going 2-0 sets up before Alan took the next three to secure victory. Jason then beat Dave Graham and paired up with Sam Langford to beat Mike Freeston and Alan in the doubles.
