DOMINIC Beesley played some of his best tennis of the winter to win a grade three under 18 regional tournament in Corby this weekend.

After victories over Mason Recci and Jack Howarth he met number one seed Nikki Rae, from Northamptonshire, in the final.

But in-form Dominic outplayed his opponent to win 6-1 6-1.

The Boston Tennis Club mini tennis C team played Skegness in the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis League.

Joseph Cannon, Harry Foster, Bradley Worth, Alastair Boothby, Anton Kiss, Callum McMillan, George Spencer and Callum Kiss earned Boston the victory.

The annual St Nicholas’ tournament was played at Boston Tennis Club.

The indoor competition sees 32 players divided in to teams of eight.

Each person partnered a different team member in each of the six rounds.

The number of games won by an individual was added to the team total.

The winning team – Doug Motson, Emily Hiew, Frances Keane, Lesley Pexton, Maurice Lawrence, Nicky Lawrence, Peter Hamlett and Ros Keane – came through to win on the last round with a total of 94 games.

The individual winners were Tony Addy and Doug Motson, both with 29 games.

The Boston Ladies’ Veteran team – Jenny McGarel, Rachel Gedney, Helen Cook and Claire Smith – had a convincing result against Spalding on Saturday, winning 7-1.

There will be an Open Mixed Tournament for the over 35s held at the club on December 28.
