Boston ABC celebrated two wins when travelling to Erdington in Birmingham.
Bue Kirason came up against R. Stauvik of Rectory ABC. Stuauvik was somewhat taller than Kirason, but the Boston boxer’s attacks to the body forced his opponent to retreat.
As Kirason’s attacks got stronger, the referee came to Stauvik’s rescue, handing him a standing eight count.
Kirason then produced strong shots to the head and body and soon after another eight count the referee gave the contest to Bue on a technical knockout.
Tommy Upsall then faced home favourite J. Keys in the top of the bill bout.
Keys, who is 10 years younger than Upsall, started strongly but Upsall was having success in his close-quarter work. His vicious counter-body shots eventually drained the fight out of the local favourite.
Every grueling body shot was met with strong reaction from the crowd and an enthralling contest saw a split decision go to Upsall.
The club has Adrianna Finch boxing in the National Finals on Sunday.
