Dave Coupland fell victim to an early cut at China’s Shankai Classic.
Beginning round one of the tournament at Chongqing Golf Club in heavy rain, the Boston golfer finished on +2.
However, as the bad weather continued play was suspended until Friday, leading organisers to make the cut after 18 holes.
And with fears that the poor conditions would continue, it was decided that the top 50 and ties would progress and not the usual top 60 and ties.
At this point, Coupland was in 51st spot.
However, his placing still earned him a consolatory 615 Euros for the European Challenge Tour event.
Coupland is now preparing for the Foshan Open, also in China, which begins on Thursday.
Following this he will travel to to Oman to play in the National Bank of Oman Classic before wrapping up his season at the Dubai Festival City Challenge Tour Grand Final at Al Badia Golf Club.
The Grand Final is for those in the top 45 of the Challenge Tour rankings.
