England hope Kelly can be a hero

BOSTON West’s Patrick Kelly will be aiming to help England Golf’s under 18s end an eight-year wait for victory in the European Boys’ Team Championships.

He will join five teammates in competing at Lidingo Golf Club, Stockholm, Sweden from July 10–14.

Kelly, currently second on the national merit list, made his debut as a boy cap in last year’s Boys’ Home Internationals, having finished as runner-up in the British Boys’ Championships.

He also won the Fairhaven Trophy last month.

England have not won the Boys’ European title since 2004 when they lifted it in Finland.

They are also determined to improve on eighth place in 2010 and 11th last year.
