Boston boxer Adrianna Finch has been invited to attend England training sessions after impressing at the National Youth Championships.
The Boston ABC youngster produced a fine performance at Ferryhill in Durham and was unlucky to suffer defeat in the final.
Finch, nicknamed the Boston Bull, was beaten by Molly Perkins of Second City, Birmingham.
Finch was focused from the bell and was in no mood to let Perkins dictate the contest.
Toe-to-toe action enthralled the full house and Finch landed many telling blows.
In the closing seconds, there were sounds of dismay as the referee halted proceedings to carry out an eight count in favour of Perkins.
Shortly afterwards the bell rang and the Birmingham boxer got the verdict with a majority decision.
Finch had booked her place in the final with victory over another old adversary, Clowie Dorringe from Berinsford ABC.
The opening two rounds were close but Finch raised her game in the third, where she caught Dorringe with powerful shots which forced the referee to intervene.
Dorringe looked all in as the referee issued a standing eight count, but waved the contest on and Finch secured a place in the final.
Finch will now attend England training sessions in Sheffield with the opportunity of progressing into the national team.
