DIVISION One leaders eastenders came good against A40, but second-placed Holland Fen dropped points...

l Eastenders 48 (6) A40 28 (0): THE leaders Eastenders had great difficulties with A40 until the halfway stage of the game. Tony Powell, Matt Whyers and Andrew Reeson eventually powered away to win 28-16 as Simon Reeson, Jonathan West and Paul Flatters, trailing 6-7, came back to succeed 20-12.

l Carlton Road 31 (2) Holland Fen 37 (4): SECOND-placed Holland Fen dropped two points against Carlton Road – Keith Swain, George Hardstaff and Chris Gill winning 20-12.

In reply, the Fenmen’s Mick Tomlin won 25-11.

l Cosmos 45 (6) Invaders 25 (0): COSMOS, in third, eased closer to the leaders when they won all the points from Invaders. Skips Keith French and Les Feary were successful 25-10 and 20-15.

l Jolly Farmers 27 (2) Royal Mail 33 (4): CAROL Clarke, Neil Harrison and Keith Thorlby were at their best to win four points foir the Mail ( 20-9). In reply, the Farmers’ Derek Green, John Maury and David Allen won 18-13.

l IBC 33 (3) Freelanders 33 (3): IBC versus Freelanders game was evenly balanced with the points and aggregate shared.

l Stumpers 18 (0) Woodhall 42 (6): THE bottom two were matched against each other, with basement side Stumpers unable to match Woodhall. Skips Eric Ulyatt and John Sellars won 28-6 and 14-12.

T&B Containers Ltd Division Two

l Parthians 31 (0) Boston Park 37 (6): BOTTOM team Boston Park left the club with smiles on their faces as they won all the points against Parthians.

Christopher Barty, Chips Davy and Alan Batchelor (15-14) plus Graham Kitchen, Andy Pape and Arnold Pape (22-17) did the damage.

l Halfpints 33 (1) Feathers 40 (5): FEATHERS claimed victory over second-bottom Halfpints, thanks to a 20-13 win for Yvonne Smith, Keith Posey and Ian Smith. For Halfpints, Brian Clarke, Carol Dowse and Tina Reeson tied 20-20.

l Patriarchs 35 (4) Kirton Town 33 (2): PATRIARCHS had a good result this week when they overcame Kirton Town. Pat Woods, Colin Baxter and Alan Woods won 19-14.

l Norprint 31 (2) Swineshead 34 (4): LEADERS Swineshead triumphed over third-placed Norprint by three shots. For Norprint, Pam Vinter, Alan Townsend and Tony Hall won 21-9 but Vic Mabbitt, Janet Hippisley and Janet Vinter claimed the aggregate points (25-10).

l Strollers 35 (1) Punchbowlers 41 (5): STROLLERS versus Punchbowlers saw the points going to underdogs Punchbowlers as Cyn Bush, Malc McNeish and Tony Bush won 23-17 and Dave Peacock, Terry Dawson and Jeff Skelton tied 18-18.

l Breakaways 23 (0) Golfers 37 (6): GOLFERS claimed six points as Jerry Gill, David Smith and Norman Ablard (21-9) plus Barry Williamson, Ron Hulley and David Marshall (16-14) all won.

Bentons Glazing Division Three

l Amateurs 27 (0) Highflyers 40 (6): IT WAS all gloom for the top three in the league this week as they all fell and finished pointless

Leaders Amateurs fell to fourth-placed Highflyers as Ivor Roberts, Robert Goodale and Eric Lewis (18-15) and Joe Carson, Terry Johns and Barrie Trigg (22-12) won.

l Central 41 (6) Crowns 19 (0): SECOND team the Crowns were toppled by mid-table Central, Iris Facey, Hazel Clark and Dave Clark (25-5) and Phyl Rickett, Marion Epton and Fred Epton (16-14) doing the damage.

l Vikings 33 (0) BBC 39 (6): THIRD-placed Vikings were defeated by third-from-bottom BBC. Dale Sowter, Pat Tomlin and Ted Vere (23-18) and Jess Whyers, David May and Bill Mortlock (16-15) were successful.

l Autos 35 (4) Traders 33 (2): BARRIE Hudson, Maurice Harding and Norman Stanley (21-17) won two points for Traders, but Autos claimed victory thanks to Margaret Gardner, Phil Purkiss and Derek Butwright (18-12).

l Sibsey 37 (4) Shipmates 34 (2): SIBSEY and Shipmates shared the rink points, but a strong finish from Phil Stubley, Ann Wys and George Bulman (19-8) earned Sibsey the win.

l Fairways 41 (5) Burtons 21 (1): FAIRWAYS seem to have finally found their touch.

Against Burtons they picked up five of the six points at stake as Ingrid King, Lorna Locking and Heather Scarboro tied 14-14 and Mavis Ablard, Barbara Slade and Anthea Hall won 27-7.

County Mixed League

THE Boston County Mixed League team travelled to Skegness and came back with just three points, Skegness winning 14-4

The Trudy Bates League team lost 13-3 at home to Spalding and the Men’s County League outfit hosted Sleaford, winning 12-6.
