The blustery conditions made progress very hard for Boston and District AC competitors in the first Lincolnshire League cross-country events at Cranwell on Sunday.

In the senior, junior, veterans’ men’s race held over 9.8k, Jos Ferreira claimed fifth place.

Andy Waltham finished strongly to claim 26th position, with Owen Msimango 47th and Tony Tomlin 56th.

In her first outing for BADAC, Fallon Lafferty finished the 4.9k women’s senior, junior race in fifth.

At under 15s level, Matthew Connolly was 12th in the boys’ 3.7k event and Hermione Wright claimed eighth position in the girls’ race over the same distance.

William Wright finished ninth in the under 13s boys’ 2.9k event and two under 11s Gold Tops had their first windy experience of Lincs League competition.

Over 1.8k, Hallam Bedford was 12th and Lucy Raywood 17th.

Next Sunday the second Lincs League match will be hosted by Boston and District Athletic Club at a new course at Castledyke Equestrian Centre, Antons Gowt.

Events for all age groups from under 11s up to vets will be held, action beginning at 11.45am.
