Boston Tennis Club had several teams in action at the weekend in the Lincolnshire Slazenger Winter League,

Boston Men’s first team played Boston seconds in division one, while Boston Ladies’ seconds met Boston Ladies’ third team in the second division.

The men’s firsts (Ray Frankish, Jeremy George-Jones, James Newton and Anthony Hulley) scored a resounding 8-0 victory against the seconds (Chris Cook, David Makins, Andy Clamp and Gary Fitzjohn).

The ladies’ second team won their game 6-2. The seconds were represented by Catherine Ellis, Helen Duckett, Claire Smith and Mary Smura, while Helen Motson, Jude Green, Helen Cook and Sharron Thorogood played for the thirds.

Boston Men’s third team (Richard Tupper, Richard Walker, Terry Mastin and Peter Hastings) beat Horncastle 7-1 in Division Two of the Seniors League.

The Boston Mini teams continue to work hard in the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Leagues.

It was again the turn of the green teams at 10 and under level on Saturday.

Boston A team of James Gedney and Will Pettitt had a close match against Boston C (Finley Mackey and Georgina Cameron). Boston C had earlier beaten Grantham 2 3-0.

The B team of Emily Stukins and Jacob Scuffham had close matches, but lost to Grantham and Horncastle.

Boston 12 and under boys’ A team of Will Cheer, Tom Mecklenburgh, Max Mecklenburgh and Harvey Vicker had a close win over Louth in the Lincolnshire Autumn Outdoor League, while their B team (Robbie Townsend, Frank Deri, William Shears and James Burrell) lost to Deeping.

Boston 14 Boys’ B team (Thomas Piggins, Reece Anderson-Doherty, Joseph Brooks and Joshua Coe) also missed out to Louth.
