JOSE Ferriera reduced the Friday Fives record – winning the third race in the five-race series on Friday evening.
Taking advantage of the fine and still conditions, Jose set a cracking pace from the start, opening up a considerable gap on the rest of the field by the two-mile mark.
In the end, he finished in a time of 31 mins 05 secs, some 19 seconds better than the previous best Friday Five time, which he set.
Once again, Edgars Sokolovskis was the second man home, recording 33 mins 06 secs.
Dennis Rainbow was third in a time outside his personal best for the distance (33 mins 37 secs).
Fifteen-year-old Kyle Nicholson finished fifth in 33 mins 59 secs, ahead of Ian Scott, who clocked 39 mins 30 secs, which was just inside his best time in the series to date.
Stuart Nicholson finished in 45 mins 49 secs, ahead of Emma Penniston (47 mins 44 secs) and Geoff Johnson (47 mins 46 secs).
The next event in the series of Friday Five races is on August 19 at 7pm.
Entries are accepted at the B- Hive, Punchbowl Lane, after 6pm on the night.
