Ladies’ Captain Hilary Calvert and vice-captain Anne Wallhead will represent Boston Golf Club in the Daily Mail Foursomes competition after winning the club qualifier.
They won the stroke play competition with a handicap allowance of half of combined handicaps with a score of 99-19.5=79.5. In second place were last year’s representatives Claire Rylott and Yvonne Shaffarczyk (99-18.5=80.5) with Fran Grant and Chris Needham in third (100-17.5=82.5).
Seniors’ Captain Ted King and Calvert combined teams for a Texas scramble competition where each player had to take at least three drives.
A total of 13 teams played in blustery conditions with Terry Forster, Chris Tinn, Kath Yates and Jane Marriott (pictured) winning with a score of 62.2 points, ahead of runners-up Peter Barton, Steve Locke, Ann Gullick and Anne Sutton (62.5).
Fourteen ladies played in the October Medal, with Marita Jordan winning with 31 stableford points, ahead of Ann Gullick (30) and third-placed Ruth Simpson (29).
