Ashleigh Frankish and Henry Beesley are Boston Tennis Club’s new women’s and men’s champions.
Over the last week the Sleaford Road club’s Chattertons Championships have been held, culminating on finals day on Sunday.
Henry defeated Richard Cook in his final, and Ashleigh edged past Emma Mastin.
In the men’s doubles final, Henry Beesley and Lewis Fisher narrowly defeated Richard Cook and Steve Green in a third set tie-break.
The ladies’ doubles was won by Rachel Atkinson and Emma Mastin, who beat Linda Barrow and Charlotte Priestley in the final.
There was also a section final the men’s singles competition, where David Cheer overcame Thomas Cozens.
Thomas had an exceptional week, playing 12 matches and making it through to this final of the men’s qualifers, the semi-final of the under 16s and the quarter-finals of the main draw.
The boys’ singles was also won by Henry Beesley.
The runner-up in this category was Zach McDonnell-Woods.
In the boys’ section, Harry Foster who won the final and Robert Hayes was the runner-up.
In a close final that could have gone one way, Charlotte Priestley won the girls’ singles and Emma Mastin was the runner-up.
The mini tennis red section saw Paul Aranin and Hannah Willis win the boys’ and girls’ titles, with James Gedney and Zara Hossany the runners-up.
At orange level, William Cheer and Lois Boothby won and Devon Morgan and Hannah Willis were runners-up.
William Cheer also won the green competition, with Harvey Vickers as the runner-up, while Louise Sharp won the girls’ green event.
Mike Burnett and Alex Cobb took the veteran doubles title in a good final against James Newton ad Anthony Hulley.
The ladies’ veteran final was also an entertaining match with Linda Barrow and Claire Smith successfully defending their title from last year against competition from Sue Burnett and Jane Hindmarch.
