Friskney lay seige to Castle in bowls results

A run down of this week’s bowls league results which saw Freiston beat Castle and Sibsey strolling their way back to Division Three with a loss to Heckington.

Division One

Surprisingly Castle seemed to struggle at home to Friskney going down 51-61 (2-6).

Three close rinks in the Freiston v Billinghay game with the home side managing to tie one to give a 38-49 (1-7) finish.

West End B won well on all three to win at home to Sleaford Rd. 61-28 (8-0), but had a closer finish in their game at home to Forbes Road, taking two rinks by just 2 shots and losing the third by 3 to give a 53-52 (6-2) result.

Mareham just made it 51-49 (6-2) in their home game with Sleaford Rd, John Bontoft and his rink winning the decider by one shot.

Division Two

Despite winning well on one rink Kirton A lost at home to Jubilee Park 51-60 (2-6).

Good Fellowship had a very good win at home to Wrangle B with the Hoyles and S.Allen taking their rink 39-4 to give a 77-26 (8-0) result.

Sibsey Strollers continue their stroll back to Division Three going down at home to Heckington with only Keith Woods and his rink having sufficient to win their rink giving a 41-76 (2-6) finish.

Sibsey Mariners away to Wrangle B won well on two but drew the third 20-20 to give a 48-21 (1-7).

Division Three

Three good rink wins in the Wrangle A v B.B.C.I match with two going to the home side to give a 57-47 (6-2) finish.

A close game at Swineshead which finished with a tied aggregate and the home side just beating Sleaford Rd. on two giving a 48-48 (5-3) result.

Burton House went down to West End A in a close high scoring game 49-54 (2-6).

Wrangle A did well at Sleaford Road beating their second team 35-59 (2-6).

Division Four

Bicker doing well this year with another win in the home game with Woodhall Nymphs 51-46 (6-2).

Another tied aggregate, this one in the Friskney v Stickney game with one rink won well by each side but with the home side just taking the third to give a 54-54 (5-3) finish.

An improved result for Wigtoft in their home match with Donington II winning on two rinks with good scores giving a 65-35 (6-2) result.

Freiston B played the game at home to Forbes Rd B one player short just losing their two player rink but winning well on the other two giving a good result for them 49-38 (6-2).

The two top teams had a creditable result with three close rink results and a drawn finish 54-56 (4-4) in the Stickney v Bicker match.

Division Five

Horncastle had a good win at home to the Woodhall third team 62-33 (8-0).

An unusual result at Gosberton in their home match with Kirton B drawing on two rinks but winning the third to give a 59-49 (6-2) result.

Three rinks all won well on the park at Boston with the home side Boston Park winning on two of them with the away side Donington A taking the third 11-16 to give a 51-44 (6-2) result.
