WYBERTON-based Team G&S Racing (Team Green Kawasaki) head to Brands Hatch at the weekend for round eight of the Superstock 1,000 and 600 championships.

Jono Howarth and Tom Fisher will be seeking to score a strong result in their respective races around the challenging 2.333-mile Kent circuit.

But both riders attended a track day at Cadwell Park during last week and, after a successful test, are confident they can do well at Brands Hatch.

Jono Howarth finished fifth in the shortened race at Oulton Park three weeks ago and is raring to get back on track to try and match this performance.

“We had a really positive test day at Cadwell,” said Howarth.

“I went faster than ever before around the Lincolnshire circuit and that bodes well for Brands this weekend.

“I don’t mind what the weather throws at us, I am just as comfortable in the wet as in the dry so come rain or shine – bring it on.”

Tom Fisher also put in some fast laps and bettered his times from the last outing at Cadwell.

“We have been trying out some new parts for the bikes and made further improvements to the set up. I am happy with the way the bike handles and will be targeting a strong, top 10 finish this weekend,” he said.

The weekend at Brands Hatch begins with an official test session on Friday morning.

This will take place around the shorter Indy circuit before the team moves on to the full GP circuit on Saturday to prepare for Sunday’s two races.

Qualifying for the Superstock 1,000cc race takes place on Saturday at 5.50pm ahead of the 15-lap race on Sunday, which is scheduled for 2.40pm.

The Superstock 600 qualifying takes place on Saturday afternoon at 5.20pm, with the 14-lap race due on circuit at 11.50am on Sunday.
