Boston ABC’s Angelica Finch and Charlene Middlebrook both claimed impressive victories when fighting on the Just For Girls show at Tamworth’s Belgrave Sports Centre.
Finch earned a unanimous decision against the experienced Jessie Stevens from Turner’s Boxing Academy.
She started strongly, her southpaw lead setting up her ferocious backhand, which was having great success.
Stevens lost her heart in the second round as Finch was landing shot after shot, leaving the Turner’s fighter with a severely damaged nose.
There was more of the same in the third round, Stevens gallantly fighting on but Finch continuing to control the bout.
Middlebrook unanimously defeated Ria McDonald of the Hook and Jab ABC, from Merseyside.
She was boxing with confidence and was technically precise, her accurate lead and backhand seeing her opponent panic.
A great opening round was followed up by Middlebrook upping the work rate in the second round.
The last round saw McDonald offer more of a challenge, but it was too little too late.
