Gold Tops show off their quadrathlon skills

Thirteen Boston and District AC representatives contested the quadrathlon events in the final 2013 Humberside League Match at Hull.

The whole meeting comprised quadrathlons for each age group, in which athletes took part in a track event, a jump and a throw, plus one further event, with points allocated for performances rather than positions.

Alice Flint won the under 20 women’s quadrathlon, achieving most points from the 800m where her time of 2 mins 28.1 secs earned 695 points. She added sucess in the long jump ( 4.62m, 643 points), triple Jump (9.44m, 562) and javelin (14.57m, 175) for a winning total of 2,075 points.

Emma Penson was runner-up in the senior women’s competition, with points accrued through hammer, 400m, 800m and long jump.

In the under 15 boys’ quadrathlon, Thomas Johnson achieved a 279 points total to claim a good fifth position, harvested through 200m (30.6 secs), high jump (1.35m), shot putt (7.94m) and javelin (28.68m).

Under 17 Frances Nuttell finished sixth. Her points were accumulated from performances achieved in 80m hurdles (14.2 secs), long jump (4.47m), high jump (1.50m) and javelin (14.19m).

Macey Andrews claimed a good sixth place at the end of the under 11s girls’ quadrathlon. She recorded 8.5 secs over 50m, 12,1 secs over 75m, 2.54m in the long jump and 19.07m for the rounders ball throw.

In the same age group, Malena Baxter was 12th, Alicia Baxter joint 13th and Samantha Millington 15th .

Brandon Andrews was seventh in the under 13s boys’ event, competing in 200m, 800m, long jump and shot.

The highest placed of the four BADAC representatives in the under 11 boys’ contest were Matthew Millington and James Bray, who claimed joint 11th position. Hallam Bedford finished in 15th and Hadley Bedford was 18th.
