Gold Tops triumph at Lincolnshire Track and Field League’s quadrathlon

In the Lincolnshire Track & Field League under 11 quadrathlon competition, Boston and District Athletic Club members won the girls’ and boys’ under 11 quadrathlon competitions held at the second Lincolnshire Track and Field match at Grantham.

In the girls’ event, Malena Baxter finished 11 points ahead of runner-up Beth Arden (Louth AC).

Malena scored most points in the 150m (25.8 secs - 44 points) and her competition-winning leap of 3.10m in the long jump contributed a further 41 points.

Her time of 13.5secs in the 80m added 32 points and, in her fourth and final event, Malena scored 16 points through a 17.31m ball throw,earning her a quadrathlon total of 133 points.

Gold Top Lyle Burrell-Kenny finished in fifth position with 91 points and Georgia Ward was seventh on 48 points.

Haddley Bedford had a 22-point lead at the conclusion of the boys’ quadrathlon, pushing Bourne Town Harriers’ Joseph Morsey into second position.

The most productive event for Haddley was the 150m, where he was second in 25.9secs, earning 42 points.

His winning long jump measured 3.11m and added a solid 41 points, and a time of 13.5secs for the 80m contributed a further 32 points.

A distance of 16.31m, achieved in the ball throw for his fourth event, gave Haddley a further 15 points and a total of 132 points.
