Golfer Lois crowned the ladies’ champion

Lois Williamson has been crowned Boston Golf Club’s ladies’ champion.

The Ladies’ Club Championship was held over 36 holes, with Lois claiming the Shirley Greswell Trophy with 77-75 =152 gross.

The runner up was Ruth Simpson with 92-82=174 gross, while Yvonne Shaffarczyk won the Ann Hodgson Vase for best nett 70-77 =147.

An extra stableford was held for those not wanting to play 36 holes. Winning with 33 stableford points was Jean Markham, second place going to Janet Read with 30 points.

Seven teams consisting of two ladies and two men turned out for a mixed Am-Am at Boston Golf Club.

The winning team - returning a score of 92, with one lady and one man scoring on each hole - were Lynn and Dave Worthington, with Jacquie and Ken Short.

Second place went to Anne Wallhead and Terry Rollinson, with Hilary Calvert and Lee Francis, scoring 86.

Callum Bastock won the Island Trophy, a full handicap medal, at Boston Golf Club on Sunday.
