Golfers take on Middleton challenge

Members of Boston Golf Club’s Ladies’ section competed in an away day at Middleton Hall.

A total of 32 ladies were split into eight teams of four, with two member’ efforts scoring on par fours, three on par threes and only one to score on the par fives.

The winning team consisted of Lady President Fran Grant, Chris Needham, Pam King and Kath Yates.

In second were Ann Hodgson, Yvonne Wright, Anne Gullick and Ann Sutton, with Gill Reynolds, Margaret Hardy, Marion Bavin and Jane Bratley third.

Ann Hodgson has won the Bothamley Bowl.

An open mixed Am-Am saw 18 teams of four compete on the Cowbridge course.

The best lady and best gent score counted on each hole.

In first were the team of A. Annous. M. Pond, M. Molsom and E. Brown (84).

In second were M. Hyde, D. Hodgson, P. Hyde and A Hodgson with 78.

M. Shaffarcyzk, K. Short, Y. Shaffarcyzk and J. Short claimed third spot on countback from P. Gorman, P. Barker, J. Gorman and E. Barker, both quartets scoring 76 points.

The ladies’ League team travelled to Belton Woods, losing out 3 and 1. The ladies then hosted Seacroft in a friendly, winning 3.5-0.5.

Regan McGowan won the Monthly Medal at Boston Golf Club on Sunday.

Playing off full handicap, McGowan was the overall winner, carding a nett 69.

Neil Timby recorded the best gross of the day with 76.
