The ladies at Boston Golf Club showed their true colours during a betterball competition between the Lady Captain’s team and the Lady President’s team.

Marion Bavin was runner-up (nett 69) also reducing her handicap by one to 27.

A stableford competition was played by the remaining field and was won by Hilary Calvert, on a countback from Jackie Short, both scoring 38 points.

The Susanne Cooper Cup, a Foursomes Medal competition, was won by Barbara Unwin and Marion Bavin (nett 73), ahead of Chris Needham and Ros Martin (nett 76).

Boston Golf Club’s Mail on Sunday team - Claire Rylott, Pam Hyde, Barbara Unwin, Jean Markham, Hilary Calvert and Judith Flevill - won their first two matches.

After a first-round bye, they beat Sutton Bridge and Skegness’ North Shore.

Their round four match is away at Coxmoor.

Boston Golf Club’s ladies have played friendly matches against Seacroft, Boston West, Sutton Bridge and South Kyme in recent weeks.
