Davis Gurton won the two-day £1,000 final at Westwood Lakes.

After claiming two points, the same as James Howarth, he won the event on weight.

The competition was fished by 58 qualifiers on both Skylark and Falcon Lakes over the weekend.

At the day-two weigh in Howarth got the nod to win his section with 94lbs 6oz, to score two points.

On the other side of Skylark on peg 11, Gurton, had already weighed in 100lbs 0oz.

He had fished tight across on pellet and maggot to catch a mixed bag of fish, also giving him two points thanks to his weight from his previous-day’s shallow fishing on Falcon Lake, a haul of 160lbs 10oz.

Overall: 1 Davis Gurton (Westwood Lakes) 2pts (weight), 2 James Howarth (Tri-cast Highfield) 2, 3 Rob Morris (Lincoln Whisby) 3, 4 Luke Morley (Westwood Lakes) 3, 5 Mark Cross (Hooked Newmarket) 3.
