Hildred aids England’s team victory

Mark Hildred has helped the England over 50 men’s team win the Home International Championship.

Competing at Nottingham, Mark - who represents Boston Squash and Racketball Club - won both his matches, defeating Scotland’s Russ Hunter 9-6, 9-6, 9-3 and Alan Mackey 9-0, 9-0,9-4 as England won 5-0 against both Scotland and Wales.

The team also beat Ireland 3-2 to retain the championship.

Mark (pictured centre) then competed at the British Open Masters in Hull, the biggest annual international event staged in Britain, where he reached the quarter-finals.

Fellow Boston squash club member David Stones also competed in the British Open in the over 55 category, losing out 10-9 in the round of 32 to Spain’s Jose Orizaula.
