BEN Wilson hopes home advantage will help him extend his lead in the British Supersport Championship.
The Kirton rider (pictured) will be in action on Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park track over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Wilson has a 43-point lead over nearest rival Alistair Seeley ahead of round nine in Louth.
The previous round at Brands Hatch went down in history as one of the best races ever to be seen in the British Supersport series.
In both races Wilson and Seeley went head to head for the race win with Seeley just crossing the finish line a tyre tread ahead of Wilson each time.
“I didn’t really get the results I wanted at Brands Hatch, but at least I picked up another 40 championship points to keep a good gap between us,” said Wilson.
“I am aiming to complete the remaining four rounds ahead of Alistair, and if I pick up some wins along the way then that’s even better for me.
“I know I will have the backing of my friends, family and local fans at Cadwell and that will help.
“But I have to approach Cadwell Park just like I would any other circuit, get on the pace and get the results we need.”
The weekend starts with two free practice sessions on Saturday ahead of qualifying on Sunday morning.
The 12-lap sprint race begins at 3.30pm on Sunday, followed by the 16-lap feature race on Monday at 3.45pm.
