Hunter and Kemp start with victory

Vic Hunter and Nev Kemp began the Winter League series at Boston Golf Club with a victory.

The format for the opening week was a betterball pairs stableford, and Hunter and Kemp recorded 44 points.

The second pairing were C. Moore and T. Hayes with 43, ahead of third-placed Graham Tilmann and Graham Sharp on 42 points.

Fourth went to Dennis Limb and Graham Day, who beat Paul Bastock and Mac Mcphail on countback, both recording 41 points.

Saturday saw the Boston Rabbits set off to Middleton Hall GC, Norfolk, to compete on a testing course.

The winner for the day was S. Locke with a very respectable 40 points.

He was presented with the awayday trophy by rabbits captain Peter Keal.

Nearest the pin in two on the seventh green was R. Delahoy.
