The team of Pam and Malcolm Hyde with Jane and Brian Marriott won an Easter Monday mixed Am-Am at Boston Golf Club.

Nine teams of four took part, with the best lady and best man scoring on each hole, while playing off full handicaps.

The Hyde and Marriott quartet returned to the clubhouse with a brilliant score of 90 stableford points, which was five points clear of runners-up Pam and Bernie Bett, with Pam and Gerald Clare.

They claimed second on countback after Chris Sherriff, Graham Tempest, Lynn and Dave Worthington also finished on 85 points.

In fourth position were Ann and Dave Hodgson with Jean and Ed Markham on 84 points.

A total of 32 ladies paired up to play in the Australian Spoons foursomes competition with halved combined handicaps.

The winning pair of Joan Young and Jacquie Short scored 31 stableford points, enough for them to progress to the regional final at Patshull Park in Shropshire.

Barbara Unwin and Pam Clare were second with 30 points.
