A team of youngsters from Boston’s Lone Wolf Taekwondo club will be in action in the Midlands Championships this week.

The competitors cut their teeth in competitive action at the LTSI English Open Championships, where Matthew Bell claimed gold.

He beat the reigning champion in the boys’ under 12s sparring division to take the crown.

Jack Thompson claimed a bronze medal.

He finished in third spot in the under eights sparring division.

The only girl on the team was Enia Rikena, who just missed out on a bronze medal of her own.

Taking part in the patterns division, she finished in fourth place out of 64 competitors in her category.

The youngest competitor at the whole competition was Shakeel Taylor, who is aged just five.

Thomas Winter also took part in the boys’ under 12s sparring division.

The Midlands Championship will be held in Derby on Sunday.
