Jackie wins her Ladies’ Kirton Holme title again

JACKIE Ward has retained her Kirton Holme Golf Club Ladies’ title.

She won the Ladies’ Championship for the second year running.

Second place was taken by Barbara Pell and in third place was Jane Grayling.

The Sunday Medal competition was played as part of the Ladies’ Championship.

In first place with a gross 85, nett 67 was Jane Grayling.

Second was Margaret Johns (93/73) and third was Barbara Pell (90/73).

The Tuesday Medal was won by Lady Captain Mary Piper with a gross 95, nett 70.

Second was Vee King (89/72), and in third place was Gill Smith (95/73).

The monthly stableford competitions were won by Paula Kidby and Yvonne Prior.

Paula won for the second month in a row with a score of 34 points.

Hazel Smith was second with 29 points and Jackie Ward third on 27 points.

Yvonne was first on countback with 27 points, ahead of Tricia Sharpe and third-placed Mavis Ablard, with 25 points.

The ladies drew two matches on the home course, against Sutton Bridge and Tydd St Giles.

Friendly matches have been affected by the weather with two postponements, but the ladies played against Gedney Hill at home, losing out 3-1.

Lady Captain Mary Piper and her partner Steve Fisher won the President’s Mixed Foursomes with a superb score of 65 points.
