Jeremy and Dom tighten their grips on the top

THE snow has not deterred all match play and competition continues courtesy of Boston Tennis Club’s indoor courts.

In the Bombay Brasserie Singles Leagues both Dom Beesley, in the main Singles League, and Jeremy George-Jones, in the Winter Day League, tighten their hold on the top of the leaderboards.

Going into December both Jeremy George-Jones and Dom Beesley are unbeaten in the leagues where they top the table.

This month in the Winter Day League Jeremy George-Jones will compete against Richard Walker, Geoff Presland and Jim Mackin.

Jeremy also plays in the Winter Singles Main League and will play in the top division against Dom Beesley, Dominic Layton-Hannam and Callum Simmons.

Margaret Allen leads the category of most consistent player who are not in group 1 with a total of 40 games and Jayne Walsh is in second place with 38 games.

Youngster Jake Sherrick had a full weekend and played two consecutive Winter Grade 4 County Tournaments. On Saturday, he reached the final at Boston Tennis Club where he was runner-up.

On Sunday, he made the journey to Easton College Tennis Centre, at Norwich, drawn to play against two of the top players in the country.

Jake made it through the group stages and into the semi-finals, where he was beaten.

After a final play-off match Jake finished a very respectable fourth place in a hard fought competition.
