Jerry’s jubilant after shading Shane to land Kirton crown

JERRY Philo was crowned Kirton Holme club champion for 2011.

He shot a gross score of 154 for 36 holes, with Shane Rowett a close second on 156 and Kevin Reeson third on 157.

Shane Rowett was the nett champion with 132, with Paul McCartney second with 133 and Kevin Reeson third on 135.

The July Tiger’s Medal winner was Paul McCartney, who carded a gross 76 (nett 64), with Joe Welch second with a gross 74 (nett 65) and Rod Bursnell third with a gross 80 (nett 66).

The Rabbits’ champion for 2011 was Jason Ward with 175.

John Smith was second on 178 and Sam Wainwright third with 186.

The Rabbits’ medal winner for July, on countback, was Dave Woods with a gross 87 (nett 65).

Ian Turner was second with a gross 85 (nett 65) and Terry Townsend third with a gross 93 (nett 68).

The July stableford was won by Simon Horton with 42 points with Dave Beeson second with 41 and Barry Chambers third with 40.

The Gentlemen’s Invitation Day was won by Ian Prior and Mervyn Davies with 59.

Barry and David Carter came second with 55 and Roy and Pete Vinter were third with 54.

The A team have won and lost to Thorney Lakes, drawn with Gedney Hill and lost to South Kyme twice, Sudbrook Moor and Tydd St Giles.

The seniors’ July medal was won by Phil Scott, with a gross 78 (nett 68), with Graham Morris second with a gross 89 (nett 73) and Cyril Foster third with a gross 99 (nett 73).

Tom King won the Senior’s July Stableford with 45 points, with Barrie Williamson second with 41 and Graham Morris third with 40.
