Boston Tennis Club’s Joe Woolley has been in action in a Aegon GB Pro-Series tournament in Glasgow.

He won through the qualifying rounds to reach the main draw of the competition.

But against a more experienced and higher-rated opponent, Joe suffered defeat in the first round.

The Aegon GB Pro-Series is one of the country’s top events for players hopeful of forcing their way onto the main world tours.

Boston’s veterans have been in action in the Lincolnshire Slazenger Leagues.

Boston Ladies’ Firsts lost 5-3 to Bourne.

The team was made up of Jenny McGarel, Linda Barrow, Claire Smith and Mary Smura.

The Ladies’ Second team, playing in Division Two, lost 6-2 at Grimsby.

Joan Beale, Jane Hindmarch, Catherine Ellis and Claire Smith made up the Boston team.

The Men’s Third team lost their Division Two match against Grantham Seconds, going down 5-3.

The Boston men’s team was made up of Mickey Audus, Andy Clamp, Fred Calvert and Richard Hart on this occasion.

The Boston Tennis Club’s Mini Tennis C team played well to beat Woodhall Spa’s Tennis Buddies 2-1 in the Lincolnshire Mini Tennis League.

The team of Joshua Brooks, Hannah Fisher, James Burrell, Emily Stukins, Serena Morrow, Thomas Piggins, Louise Sharp and Dominic Sharpe played very well to earn their victory.

They were competing at red, orange and green levels.
