Callum Johnson is desperate for a swift return to the ring - eyeing up a bout by the end of the month.
“Hopefully, there’ll be another one by the end of June, late in the month,” the Boston light heavyweight told The Standard.
“But we’ll just have to wait and see about that.”
Indeed, Johnson’s main focus right now is on another boxer’s career.
The 27-year-old is currently in New York City, helping Matthew Macklin prepare for his world title fight with WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.
They will meet in Conneticut on July 29.
Johnson sees his invitation to travel and spar with Macklin as a huge compliment.
“It shows the calibre of fighter that Matt must think I am if he wants me to go to New York with him,” Johnson added.
Johnson, when he returns from the Big Apple, will be hoping for another bout, following his seventh-round victory over John Anthony in Walsall last month.
If not, he will next box on July 20.
