Ten-pin bowler Katie Jacklin has been crowned a county champion.

She was one of six members of the Boston Youth Bowling Club who recently travelled to Lincoln Bowl for the annual Lincolnshire County Championships and trials.

Katie took first place in the under 14 girl’s singles competition before teaming up with Jacob Brook to finish third in the under 14s doubles.

Jenny Pollard took second place in the under 18s girls’ singles and - with Robert Oliver - claimed third place in the under 18s doubles.

Jenny, Robert, Oliver Thomas and Jacob also took first place in the team event.

And the celebrations didn’t end there as Katie and Jacob were selected for the under 15s Lincolnshire county squad.

Jenny, Ben Jacklin, Oliver and Katie were also selected for the under 18s Lincolnshire county squad for the coming year.

Boston Youth Bowling Club (YBC) are based at Boston Bowl and always looking for new members.

Anyone aged between six and 18 and would like to have a go is welcome to take part on Saturday mornings from 10.30am.

Newcomers are offered coaching from a BTBA (British Tenpin Bowling Association) coach and all equipment is in included.

The first session is completly free.
