Kirk catches carp to be the top rod

Martin Kirk won the latest Sunday Open at Westwood Lakes.

Despite the heavy cold rain, Osprey Lake fished reasonably well for the conditions.

Kirk drew peg nine and his catch - made up purely of carp - weighed 38lbs 0oz.

He fished at the bottom of the far shelf at 10 meters on 4mm expander pellet over 4mm feed pellet.

Results: 1 Martin Kirk 38lbs 0oz, 2 Rob Morris 34lbs 13oz, 3 Daniel Abbot 30lbs 4oz, 4 Andy Kelk 29lbs 0oz, 5 Gregor Chalat 28lbs 10oz.

Tom Wilson won the Over 50s match on Skylark Lake on Thursday.

Wilson was on the favoured Peg 30 and caught carp which totalled 36lbs 8oz in weight.
