Kirton Holme Golf Club’s ladies’ section played a friendly match at home to Boston West, winning 2.5-1.5.

The Holme ladies’ league team played two away matches during June.

The first was at Tydd St Giles, whom they had already beaten on three occasions this year.

However, their winning form was not on show on this occasion, with the home team succeeding.

The second match was at Spalding GC, and again the Kirton Holme ladies were defeated.

The Ping Qualifying Stableford competition was won by Jackie Ward and Sarah Cantwell, who will go forward to the next round after their 40-point score.

A second sdtableford was won by Merna Atkins, with 40 points.

Pamela Toy finished as the runner-up, with Val Richardson in third (38).

A nine-hole stableford qualifier was won by Shirley Raynor.

She scores 15 points, beating Jean Williamson on countback.

Barbara Slade was in third, with 14 points.

The Sunday Medal was won by Anthea Hall.

That was enough to see off runner-up Lorraine Bush (110, 75), and third-placed Barbara Slade (108, 78).

The second medal was won by Merna Atkins.

Her score of gross 92, nett 73 ensured Mavis Ablard (95, 73) could only make second place.

In third was Tricia Sharpe (86, 73).
