Boston Tennis Club’s Ladies’ First team earned a 5-4 win against newly-promoted Woodhall Spa in the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League Division One.

The team of Rachel Atkinson, Linda Tinsley, Sam Cook, Ashleigh Frankish, Emily Hawkesworth and Linda Barrow won it on a third-set tie-break, 10-8.

There were four championship tie-breaks as the Mens’ Third team – John Gibson, Chris Cook, Mike Sweeney, Geoff Presland, Richard Hart and Fred Calvert - won their third division fixture with Tealby 9-0.

The Men’s Fourth team played St James Grimsby’s Second team on Saturday, with Andy Clamp, Sam Felepes, Jack Morrow Toby Macdonell-Woods, Sam Khan and Sripal Kumar securing a 7-2 success.

In the latest round of Aegon team tennis matches, the Mens’ B team drew 3-3 with Burton Waters Seconds, but lost the tie-break shoot-out. Calum McCaig, Callum Simmons, James Newton and Ryan Frankish made up the side.

The Boston under 12s Boys’ Aegon A team of Lucas East, Daniel Dorey-Rodriguez, Michael Niedermeier and Matthew Gedney lost 8-4 to Burton Waters.

The Boston under 16 Boys had a clean sweep at Sleaford, Zach McDonnell-Woods, Toby McDonnell-Wods, Thomas Cozens and Joe Parla winning 12-0.

Anthony Hulley and Peter Elphick won the group A final of the club’s St George’s Day tournament, with Kanya Clark and Margaret Wright runners-up.

The B final was won by Lesley Addy and Sue Dring, beating Nicky Lawrence and Peter Hamlett.
