Hannah Macleod was on target as England’s women began their EuroHockey campaign with a 3-0 victory over Spain.
The Boston-born forward netted first, before teammates Kate Walsh and Lily Owsley were also on target on Saturday.
Macleod was part of the Great Britain side which won bronze at last year’s Olympics.
And now she is hoping to improve on that as England aim to win their first European tournament for more than 20 years.
England and Spain were the first teams to compete in the women’s event - which is being held in Antwerp, Belgium - and it was Macleod’s side which showed their dominance.
But it was a different story a day later as England were beaten 2-1 by Germany.
England play their third pool match against Scotland this afternoon (2pm).
The semi-finals and placing matches will be played on Thursday, with the finals held on Saturday.
