Two-man Lodgers E suffered 7-3 defeat to newly-promoted Graves Park D in the Yates and Greenhough Division One of the Boston and District Table Tennis League.
Ian Stones won two and Colin Bell one, but that’s all Lodgers had to show for their efforts against Graham Walters, Mick Dodes and Paul Matschull.
With Nick Langley unavailable, Graves Park A drafted in Mick Maltby from Division Two, but he couldn’t help his side from losing 8-2 to Stickney.
Paul Hartnett and Vince Lozynsky won their three games, while Gavin Herberts played his part in the success.
Graves Park D won 6-4 against Lodgers B.
Tim Day won his three for Lodgers, but Paul Matschull and Mick Dodes both picked up two wins to aid their side.
Alan Reetham, standing in for Mick East in the Graves Park C team, scored a notable victory in their 5-5 draw with Lodgers E, beating Ian Stones in straight sets.
Graham Lacey won his three for Lodgers.
He also teamed up with Colin Bell to win the doubles.
Colin took Martin Walters and James Quinton to five ends, but each time he saw his efforts come to naught, while Ian Stones endured a frustrating evening, losing each of his three games.
Pete Evans made an impressive impact for Wrangle A in their match at Penmaen B, winning his three in some style.
Dave Coulson chipped in with two more, beating Neil Snaith in five ends, and Roger Hooten, but losing out to Scott Sykes.
Sam Cooper had a disappointing night by his standards, winning the one against Roger.
