Fifty-two Ladies competed in the Charity Open competition at Kirton Holme Golf Club.

Despite the extremely windy conditions, there were some excellent scores.

Golfers represented clubs from Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire on the day.

First place went to Rikki Czajkowski and Jules Palmer, from Blankney Golf Club.

They scored 41 points.

In second, with 40 points were Boston Golf Club’s Ann Hodgson and Ruth Simpson.

Marlene Morris was the top finisher from Kirton Holme, teaming up with Jane Avison from Woodhall Spa GC, to claim third spot with 39 points.

The winner of the twos competition was Maggie Spiby from Orton Meadows GC.

She scored a birdie on the third.

Nearest the pin on the third was Ann Wallhead, from Boston Golf Club, and nearest the pin on the sixth was Jenny Venters, from Gedney Hill Golf Club.

The event helped raise more than £400 towards the club’s charity, Pilgrim Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit.
