Jenny McGarel and Jack Morrow won the Millwood Summer Doubles League at Boston Tennis Club.
Morrow won a staggering 99 games to be crowned men’s champion, missing out on just nine games in total. Second-place Zach McDonnell-Woods won 96 games.
McGarel won the ladies’ title with 87 games, ahead of runner-up Tricia Sweeney, who was four games behind.
The Summer Bombay Brasserie Singles Day League is in its final month. Jeremy George-Jones is currently in first place, with Richard Walker, Ladi Hruban and Phil Cosgriff closely battling for second.
Within the Bombay Brasserie Summer Day Singles League there is an award for the most consistent player. Sarah Ulyatt currently leads with 74 games, ahead of Joan Beale (73), Margaret Wright (72) and Diane Sharpe (71).
The club’s Summer Daytime Doubles will end after the next set of matches. Geoff Presland leads the field with 113 games won, Robert Smith is in second place on 102 games while Alan Saxton is third on 101.
In the Lincolnshire Slazenger Doubles League, Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s team had a 5-4 win away at Grimsby. The team of Ray Frankish, Calum McCaig, James Newton, Dan Bambridge, Lewis Fisher and Joe Woolley played well.
