Medal haul for amazing Gracie

Gracie Chase scooped a handful of medals at the recent Lincolnshire Netball League presentation night.

The 12-year-old, from Boston, was named the Lincolnshire League’s Player of the Season for competitors aged from 12-18.

The Boston Junior Netball Club competitor also collected the Performance Pathway South LincsSatellite under 14s’ Most Improved Player award and Lincs League under 12s Boston Players’ Player title.

Gracie also collected a runners-up medal for being part of the Boston under 12s team, which finished second in their division of the Lincs League.

The King’s Crescent resident was also nominated in the Boston under 14s Players’ Player category.

Gracie began playing netball at the age of nine, joining the Boston junior club after learning the ropes at Tower Road School, but her game has excelled since moving to the Giles School.

Such was her all-round progress that the school put her forward for the under 14s trials at the South Lincs Sartellite Academy of the All-England Performance Pathway programme.

After two weeks of training, Gracie was ofered aplace at the academy and has since been attending regular coaching sessions.

Boston Netball Club collected plenty of further awards at the Lincolnshire County Netball presentation evening.

Match prizes: Lucy Hall (South Lincs County Academy Most Improved Player), Laura Mae Patrick (South Lincs County Academy Player of the Match 12/3), Hattie Needham (South Lincs County Academy A Squad Player of the Festival), Maisie Tingle (Joint County Academy Match 23/4), Laura Patrick (South Lincs County Academy Outstanding Contribution Award), Maisie Tingle (South Lincs County Academy Special Recognition Award).

Players’ Player awards: Lucy Hopper (HI-5), Lucy Hopper (U12 Thunder), Gracie Chase (U12 Lightning), Daisy Samra (U14 Cyclone), Lydia Bainbridge (U14), Joanne Ward (U16 Storm), Hattie Needham (U16 Blaze), Hannah Patrick (Senior A), Hannah Patrick (Senior B).

Team positions: Hi 5- county runners-up, U12 - county runners-up, U16 - third place, Senior A - third place, B2N Division Two Boltz 2 - county champions, B2N Division One Boltz 1 - county runners-up.
