Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s Firsts team had an excellent 5-4 win over Louth Indoor in a Lincolnshire Slazenger Doubles League match.
The team of Richard Cook, Steve Green, Dom and Henry Beesley, James Newton and Lewis Fisher, claimed a narrow victory.
Boston Ladies’ Seconds - Catherine Ellis, Emma Mastin, Jenny McGarel, Rachel Gedney, Claire Smith and Mary Smura - beat St James Seconds 8-1.
The Ladies’ Thirds - Joan Beale, Jane Hindmarch, Victoria Needham, Emma Mastin, Helen Duckett and Victoria Beardsley - lost 3-6 to Appleby Frodingham.
The Men’s Thirds - Ryan Frankish, Simon Bush Jeremy and Courtney George-Jones, Richard Hart and John Gibson - beat Scotter 7-2, before the team’s Chris Cook, John Gibson, Geoff Presland, Ryan Frankish, Richard Hart and Courtney George-Jones lost 6-3 to Grimsby.
Boston’s Fourths - Andy Clamp, Michal Chmielik,Zac McDonnell-Woods, Jack Morrow, Henry and David Cheer - beat Eastgate Seconds 5-4. Against Scotter, there was another 5-4 win for the Fourths’ Andy Clamp, Rhys Thomas, Zac McDonnell-Woods, Sam Khan, Sam Felipes and David Cheer.
The Men’s Fifth team - David Makins, Peter Elphick, Richard Tupper, Michal Chmielik, Sam Felipes and Courtney George-Jones - Horncastle 6-3.
The Men’s Sixth team - Richard Woods, Doug Motson, Zafar Khan, Richard Cozens, Sev Smura and Tom Cozens - beat Bourne 6-3.
Boston Tennis Club held their Murray Mania Open Day on Saturday (pictured above), with more than 80 local people playing tennis and getting coaching tips.
Visitors will be welcome at the club during the Borough of Boston’s Summer Fun activities, where there are sessions for juniors on July 22, 24, 29 and 31 (5.30pm-6.30pm under eights, 6pm-7.30pm for juniors, 7-8pm adult beginners).
