Miller’s time! New Boston Golf Club captain Tony is greeted with inaugural tournament

The Captain’s Inaugural for Boston Golf Club’s new captain Tony Miller was played as a full handicap stableford.

The event was won by Paul Vaughan with 42 points.

He is pictured, left, with Tony Miller.

Lee Beeson finished second on 41 points, with James Hodgson third and Trev Newton fourth.

On Sunday the club hosted the second round of the Winter League, a bogey format.

In first were Lee Beeson and Daniel White on +9, while second place went to Mark Lee and Terry Sims with +7.

Also on +7 were third-placed Jonathan Welberry and James Lavery, while Terry and Andrew Dawson were fourth on +6, the same score as fifth-placed Ryan Austin and Josh Payne.

Thirteen teams of four competed in an 18 hole Stableford Waltz Ladies Open at Boston Golf Club.

The top three scores were to count consecutively and, with a score of 86, the winning team was the Spalding quartet of Hannah Thorold, Lesley Williams, Barbara Newcombe and Mags McArdle.

In second place with 84 were a team from Blankney and a Louth foursome came third with 76 points.
