Mini marvels seal unbeaten run

In the Boston and District Winter League Boston E was beaten by Boston B.

Playing for Boston B was the father-daughter combination of Andy and Gemma Clamp and the father-son pairing of Jeremy and Courtney George-Jones.

Boston E had out Richard Cozens and Zafar Khan, Peter Elphick and Michal Chmielik.

The Boston mini tennis A team completed matches in the Lincolnshire Winter League.

The team’s last match was against Horncastle and a win left the team unbeaten. Playing for the A team was William Cheer, Harvey Vickers, Millie Alexander, Amie Hatton, Paris Royal, Matthew Gedney, Daniel Dorey and Lucas East.

Matthew Gedney played in the Leicestershire Winter County Grade 4 orange tournament held at Loughborough. He reached the final, beating Dominic McKaig from Leicestershire 15-13, 10-8 in a very close match.

Emma Mastin reached the semi-finals of the 14 and under county tour tournament held recently at West Bridgford losing out in the semi- finals to Warwickshire’s Evelyn Biggs.

Victoria Needham finished third in Queniborough, Leicestershire, a grade 5 tournament, beating Derbyshire’s Talita Henderson in the third fourth play- off.

Henry Beesley also finished third in the 14 and under Winter Regional Tournament held at the Buckinghamshire Indoor Tennis Centre.

He lost to Kent’s Alex Juniper, in the semi- finals and then beat another Kent player in the third fourth play-off.

Henry Beesley and Joe Woolley both reached the quarter finals at Hills Road, Cambridge, in a Winter Regional 16 and under tournament.
