SWIMMER Natasha Berg has claimed a national title.

The cadet, a member of the 141 Boston Squadron Air Training Corps, competed at the Corps Swimming Championships at RAF Cranwell.

There she claimed gold in the 50m freestyle, silver in 100m individual medley, and bronze in the 4x50m relay.

She also set new personal bests in freestyle (30.39 secs), individual medley (1 mins 19.91 secs) and breaststroke (43.91 secs).

She now faces the wait to see whether she has qualified to represent the corps in an inter-services event also including the Army and Sea Cadets.

In order to participate, cadets must qualify at wing level, the equivalent of county level, and then at a regional standard.

“I am very excited at the chance of representing the ATC and am looking forward to trying to beat my personal bests,” Cadet Berg said.

Cadet Berg also received the squadron’s Female Sports Person of the Year award for 2011.
