Graves Park Nomads continued their poor run of form in Division Two of the Boston and District Table Tennis League this week, with a disappointing 8-2 defeat to Lodgers C.

Lodgers’ Boyd Smith had a brilliant night, winning his three against Walt Bridges, Chips Davey and Jamie Stainton.

Steve Marshall also won his three, before picking up the doubles with Boyd.

Neil Morgan picked up one.

With the 10-0 demolition of Belchford, Sibsey A gave a clear message of intent of promotion at the end of the season, but as is so often the case, the win was far from one-sided.

However, Fred Calvert, Phil Coote and Neil Snaith were too strong for Andrew Pocklington, Brian Todd and Roger Chapman.

Graves Park E beat Lodgers H 6-4.

Adam Bell’s persistence did not pay off as he lost his three to Scott Raistrick, Gavin Read and imon Raistrick.

However, teammates Andy Gilbert (three) and Pete Bell (two) did enough in the singles to ensure their doubles win secured victory.

Graves Park D moved into top gear in their whitewash of Lodgers D. Paul Matschull took his three in straight sets, while Mat Lilly and Mick Dodes also won their matches.

Needing five points to regain the top spot in the division from their stablemates Sibsey A, Sibsey C travelled to Lodgers C with a game plan in mind, and came away with a fine 7-3 victory.

Steve Marshall won Lodgers’ three, but Chris Cooke, Smiler Smith and Roger Hooten were too strong for Boyd Smith and Vic Clements.
