Outstanding performances at BADAC junior cross country finale

The 2014-15 Boston and District Athletic Club series of Primary Schools Cross Country matches concluded with some outstanding performances at the B-Hive on Saturday.

James Leates (BADAC) won the years one and two race over 600m in 2 mins 51 secs, six seconds ahead of Joshua Robertson (St George’s Prep) and 13 seconds ahead of third-placed Toby Taylor (St George’s).

Rosa Taylor (Bicker Prep) was the first girl to finish (3 mins 04 secs) with Benjamin Rudkin (St George’s) fifth in 3 mins 05 secs with George Allen-Burgess (St George’s) sixth in 3mins 57 secs.

Lucy Taylor (St George’s) was seventh in 3 mins 59 secs.

James won the overall trophy wit 28 points, with Joshua Robertson second (14) and Finlay Barnes (Bicker Prep) third with 12 points.

The girls’ overall trophy was awarded to Rosa Pool, who had 12 points .

Ocean Star Orrey (St George’s) was second with seven points and Mazie Prudden (Sibsey Primary) was third with a total of three points.

The team trophy was won by St George’s Prep.

In the years three and four event, Oscar Shields (St George’s Prep) won the 1,200m challenge in 6 mins 27 secs.

In second was Leo Pool (Bicker Prep) in 6 mins 50 secs, ahead of first girl Kenya Allen-Burgess (St George’s), clocking 7 mins 01 secs.

Fourth was Sebastian Money (St George’s), clocking 7 mins 08 secs with teammate Alex Whelan fifth in 7 mins 45 secs. In sixth was Rosie Owen (Coningsby Primary) in 8 mins 20 secs.

Oscar won the overall trophy with 34 points, with Sebastian Money second (25) and Leo third (20).

Kenya won the girls’ title with 25 points, ahead of Rosie Owen (13) and Georgia Ward (Friskney) just edging out Georgina Cameron (St George’s) for the third-place trophy.

St George’s won the team event.

The years five and six event was held over 1,500m.

Hallam Bedford (Burgh le Marsh Primary) secured victory in 6 mins 52 secs and Lucy Raywood (Mareham le Fen) was the first girl in 7 mins 03 secs in second place.

Rodrigo Quevedo (Bicker Prep) was third in 7 mins 07 secs and Haddley Bedford (Burgh le Marsh) raced into the finish funnel in fourth position in 7 mins 32 secs, ahead of Lucy Hopper (Sibsey Primary) in 7 mins 44 secs and Sam Shields (St George’s) 7 mins 52 secs.

The winner of the overall trophy was Hallam Bedford (30 points).

Rodrigo was second (24) and Haddley Bedford was third (22).

Lucy Raywoodwon the girls’ event with 35 points, with Lucy Hopper second (16) and Courtney Woodvine (Billingborough) third (nine).

Bicker Prep School won the team trophy.
