Park Life! B team earn close table tennis victory

In Division One of the Boston and District Table Tennis League, Graves Park B earned a close 6-4 victory at Stickney.

With Gavin Herberts injured, the hosts were a man down, but as Paul Hartnett and Vince Lozynsky both won their singles against Mick Maltby and Dave Graham, they still had some hope of a draw.

Alan Reetham won his singles for the Park, who had a narrow 5-4 lead going into the doubles, before he teamed up with Mick to wrap up victory.

Graves Park C were down to two players as they lost out 8-2 at home to Lodgers G.

Kelvin Clements beat Martin Walters and James Quinton in straight sets, while Mark Hulme was made to struggle for his two victories

Gary Hill, however, lost to both Walters and Quinton, before Lodgers wrapped things up in the doubles.

In Division Two, Graves Park E were also down to two players as they drew 5-5 with Wrangle B.

Andy Gilbert won his three against David Butler, Tony Hall and Tim Sampson, while Pete Bell won his singles against Sampson.

The Park duo then won the doubles to earn a 5-5 draw.

Belchford recorded their first-ever victory over Graves Park Nomads with a 7-3 win.

Andrew Pocklington picked up his three against Gary Hall, Walt Bridges and Jamie Stanton, while Brian Todd chipped in with two and Peter Hughes added one.

For the Nomads, Hall won two and Bridges their third point.

Sibsey C beat Lodgers C 7-3 and Graves Park E drew 5-5 with Lodgers H.
